New furniture!
Yay! I am soo excited! I am getting new living room furniture! This will be the first time in 20 years I actually will have something that I picked out myself that is brand new! I know it's silly and materialistic, but I can't help it! Since me and my hubby have been married we have always had good stuff, it's just that we weren't the first owners, we always bought gently used furniture from miscellaneous different relatives. Actually we did buy our entertainment center brand new. But I guess I meant the sofa and loveseat! It has this cool fabric called microfiber that looks kinda like leather and had the big nail brads around the front of the arms. When we get it you will have to check out Maggie's fotopage to see it. We will get it either tonight or tommorrow so check for it then.
Here is a personality quiz that I took after reading Reid's awesome blog! Here are my results:

A Mother's Prayer
Okay don't faint - yes I really am posting! It's been ages I know, but the last 2 times I was gonna post the site was down and wouldn't let me! Well it is amazing how time passes so quickly! I just got my invitation in the mail to my *swallows* 20th High school reunion! I can't believe it! My "baby" just turned 12 yesterday and the fact that I have kids that will be 19 this year still amazes me! And I guess I better mention here (so as not to hurt feelings for leaving out) that I will have a 15 year old at the end of the year! I will also celebrate a 20th Anniversary with my hubby! Isn't it funny how when you are a little kid that you never can find enough things to do in a day, but the older you get, the more responsibilty you have and you are lucky to get half the things you need done in a day? I think every now and then its great to be like we were when we where younger. I think people would be less stressed out all the time and wouldn't be so irritable. Ya know how it was to not have anything to worry about and you could just spend hours doing the same things? Like when I was a kid me and my sister always used to get out a big quilt and spread it out on the lawn and spend hours outside having a picnic with our dolls and then we would lay on our backs and stare up at the clouds if there were some and watch them for what seemed hours trying to make out the shapes of some sort of animal or person we knew! Then there were the days we had our lemonade or koolaid stand set up on those hot summer afternoons! Or all the many summers spent on the beach playing in the surf and making sandcastles, looking for live sand dollars and shells. Or going fishing for hours! (I could still fish for hours and never get tired of it) It is so amazing how small the size of a brain is when you look at one, but when you think of all the memories and such that it can hold. Just think how awesome God is to have made us to be able to hold/store all these things in such a tiny little head. And how wonderful it is that he also uses our heart not only to keep us alive but to also use our heart to hep us remember what is filed neatly away inside our heads! I can't believe all the milestones that I have crossed! I am truely blessed! Thinking of this HS Reunion makes me think of when I was in high school how all these ideals seemed so important at the time and all these plans for the future we all had back then. Not many of the people followed through with all that! I mean I (not complaining) thought I would be a doctor one day! I am so glad Yahweh showed me what he wanted me to do BEFORE I went off to Med school and to think of all that money I saved too! I think Christian, Wife, Mom, Jill-of-All trades is a much better job! And I can guarantee I work equally as hard! As I think of all these things it made me think of this prayer I read the other day in a neat little book for wives and mothers I just got. This prayer was written by William Barclay and is sometimes called A Mothers Prayer:
O God, help me always to remember that You have given to me the most imprtant task in the world, the task of making a home.
Help me to remember this when I am tired of making beds, and washing clothes, and cooking meals, and cleaning floors, and mending clothes, and standing in shops. Help me to remember it when I am physically tired in body, and when I am weary in mind with the same things which have to be done again and again, day in and day out.
Help me never to be irritable, never to be impatient, never to be cross. Keep me always sweet. Help me to remember how much my husband and my children need me, and help me not to get annoyed when they take me for granted, and when they never seem to think of the extra work they sometimes cause me.
Help me to make this home such that the family will always be eager to come back to it, and such that, when the children grow up and go out to their own homes, they will have nothing but happy, memories of the home from which they have come.
This I ask for Your love's sake, Amen.
William Barclay
Well, I think I better end this post here before I sit here and don't get anything done today! Blessings to all & have a great week if I don't post again soon. Although I am gonna try to post more often but we will see how that goes!
